Home Page: what opens up each time you get into this course and will include the syllabus. There will be a link for the entire syllabus on google docs as well. In addition, the most recent and updated announcements will be linked as well. When you are setting the notifications please be sure to set the email notification to daily, then your school email will receive an email link to announcements, due dates, assignments and grade updates.

Syllabus Page ( is also your home page!): contains the breakdown of grading, name and date of assignments as well as when they are due. A quick "Canvas Hack" to remember: assignments/tests are always linked and underlined in blue. I have not initiated the Conferences OR Collaborations OR Discussions. If you need communication from me, Mrs. Cox or your classmates, the People link has been activated. Please do not assume that our email system works the same as Google, I can see your conversations.

Announcements: the area that you will want to check on a daily basis. Most often if I need to get immediate information out to you as a class, I post announcements and provide links, videos and reminders through this medium. If I have something specific, for you I will email you through Canvas which should show up in your school gmail. In addition, I often put little easter eggs that can help with Module tests. NOT reading the announcements will impact your grade. There is a participation report that I can access and utilize, which I will do. There more you login AND complete assigments, the higher your "Canvas Count" grade will grow.

Modules link: the collection of pages, videos, assignments, and tests. Also, this is where the majority of this class will be housed. You will find your course work and directions here. The module will house such items as: classwork assignments, projects, spelling words and other important assignments. Hopefully, you noticed this is also linked in the announcements while specific assignments will show on the home/syllabus page.

Grades Page: you can track your progress in the class. There is also a tool to let you put in future scores to see how certain assignments will affect your overall grade. Please remember, logging in and completing assignments is a grade. Also, I have to grade your assignments and turning them in on time is the only way to ensure full credit. When I open a module with linked assignments, the due date will usually be the Friday of that week. To avoid ZEROS, I will leave assignments open until the end of the marking period. HOWEVER, any thing turn in after the due date loses 10 pts for every Friday after.

People page: here you will find everyone associated with this course, both encore sections for 6th, 7th, and 8th have been blended together in one section for each grade level. You can contact a friend from a different section regarding missing work or me or Mrs, Cox if you have questions. Please do not hesitate to ask for help. That's what we are here for!!!!
