During this module, you will engage with content about the Leadership in Digital Learning Focus Area at the Novice level. Please view one or both of the following videos to learn how other North Carolina teachers are using technology with regards to the Focus Area Leadership in Digital Learning.

About this Course:

 Learning Goals:

Teachers will demonstrate leadership in accelerating their integration of digital teaching and learning pedagogies.
 By the end of these competencies (modules) you will:
  1. Engage in virtual or face-to-face learning communities to show growth when using technology applications for professional growth or student learning.  
  2. Participate in professional development to promotes the of integration of digital teaching and learning.
  3. Utilize a new digital tool and reflecting about impact on student learning.
  4. Reflect about professional practices for the purpose of improving instruction.

 Instructions:

The Leadership in Digital Learning Focus Area is comprised of 4 competencies (modules): Professional Learning Networks, Professional Development, Digital Tools, and Professional Reflection. Participants will complete each competency (module) shown below and submit appropriate artifacts. Once an artifact has been graded and successfully completed you will receive a micro-credential. A micro-credential in the Leadership in Digital Learning Focus Area is equivalent to .25 CEUs; for the Novice level, you may earn 1.00 CEUs. 

To move from the Novice level to the Experienced level, you will need to complete all of the tasks for each of these competencies in the Novice level. After completing each of the tasks in the Experienced level, you may move to the Mastery task. Ultimately, completing this Focus Area from Novice through Mastery, you may earn 3.0 CEUs and earn a digital badge.

 Time Needed:

Each competency (module) contains an activity for the teacher.  Some modules may take more time for teachers, but on average will take an hour to complete. 

 

The buttons below identify the four competency modules that will be explored in this Focus Area. You may choose to work through these modules in any order. To complete the Novice level, you will work through each of the four modules.
